The Coca-Cola Foundation funded program which aims to prepare and capacitate 5 water utilities in Negros Occidental through the development of a comprehensive and holistic NRW management program. This 2-year program will assist water utilites in crafting a NRW plan which includes: conducting of consumer surveys, water balance, leak detection, and meter management. All with the target of lowering NRW percentage of the different water utilities.
The program started off with E.B. Magalona Water Works and Murcia Water District, who attended a training at the Maynilad Water Academy in Manila. This was followed by the survey of all household and companies in their respective service areas.
In August, we engaged talks with Isabela, Moises Padilla, and Hinoba-an to join the program as the remaining water utilities to complete the line up. These was then followed by the signing of a MOA with Isabela on September 3, Moises Padilla on September 17, and Hinoba-an on October 1. After the signing, a scheduled scanning of the water system was conducted in Isabela and Hinoba-an followed by data gathering on the history and operation of each water utility. A training at the Maynilad Water Academy will be held on November 11-13 which will be followed by the consumer survey in each water utility.
The 2-year program is solely funded by the Coca-Cola Foundation, Inc. and will run until December 31, 2026.
