AIDFI Hands over 1st of 3 projects from the Prince Talal International Prize for Human Development

On June 13, AIDFI together with the LGU of Hinobaan and BLGU of Alim handed over the first of the three water systems funded as part of AIDFI winning in the Prince Talal International Prize for Human Development and the Arab Gulf Programme for Development (AGFUND) in the 4th category which was awarded during the COP27 last November 2022.


The gravity water system was implemented from April 12, 2023 and completed on June 8, 2023. The water system will benefit 112 households with 172,800 liters per day to a 30,000 liter capacity ferrocement reservoir that distributes the water to 5 water kiosks located in Purok 5. AIDFI also distributed 150 units of table top water filters to the community of Purok 5, 4 daycare centers, health center, and Alim Elementary School. The project was formally handed over to the Purok Singko Farmers Workers Association (PUSIFAWA) who will manage and operate the water system and is headed by their Chairperson Judy Flores.
